Discesa negli inferi was composed 2021 for L'Ensemble Etruria Barocca. Inspired by Orpheus' trip to the underworld, the music explores feelings of suspended time, juxtapositions of hellish clusters and sweeter harmonies, and attempts to climb that "fail" when the music "looks back".
