 Composer

Moirai

Moirai was composed 2013-2014 for Psappha and the University of Manchester Music Society, conducted by Ellie Slorach.

Moirai was inspired by the loom of the Fates of Greek mythology. These immortals would spin and weave the threads of people's lives until the moment of death, at which point the loom stops work and the thread of life is cut. It was written to be paired with Stravinsky's Symphonies of Wind Instruments.
